Greek language and culture lessons

Non-Greeks interested in following Greek courses can visit their local KEK (Vocational Training Centre) and enroll in a training programme entitled 'Odysseas'. 'Odysseas' is a programme consisting of lessons of Greek language, Greek history and culture that aim to provide non-Greeks with a better understanding of the country they are living in.

After completing the programme participants will be provided with a certificate of life-long learning and will be able to participate in Greek aptitude exams needed to obtain the status of 'long term resident in Greece'. The pass rate in these exams for those who have followed the 'Odysseas' programme is over 90%.

The programme is open to anyone aged 16 or over. Participants will have the option of following level A1 or level A2, depending on their current knowledge of Greek.

The objective is to give students the linguistic and cultural skills that will allow them to interact with other Greek speakers and to manage the demands of everyday life. Classes take place either in the morning or in the afternoon, according to the needs of the participants. Anyone interested in the courses can apply at the local KEK.
